Handball is a very old sport whose origins can be traced back to Roman times, and also to the Maya civilisation.
It was only towards the end of the nineteenth century that the rules were fully codified, and the first men's handball world championship took place in 1938.
In the 1960s, handball began to spread throughout the world, going on to become an Olympic sport at the Munich games in 1972.
As of yet, the game has not truly taken off in the UK, but it has begun to take hold in various regions where it was not previously played until recently.

To set up a handball pitch, you need robust fittings made from high-quality, hard-wearing materials that allow the game to be played as it should be.
Our handball goals come in both aluminium and steel variants and are TUV-certified. Our handball-specific nylon nets are available separately.
In addition to goals, the Artisport catalogue features a wide selection of handball balls in rubber or PVC for both the men's and the women's games, with different weights and sizes available.
